When a machine is down, the question is not just whether someone can make the ring. It is whether the right material and cross section can reach site before the equipment needs to run.
Ask for two routes. First, check stock for the exact standard size. Next, ask whether a step moulded ring from the CO.SM.O range can be supplied in the required diameter, cross section and compound. Where joined cord is the only fast option, some suppliers offer an express service, but it is a paid premium rather than standard. Confirm availability against the actual enquiry. Do not assume the fastest ring is an acceptable permanent replacement.
Tell the supplier the latest useful delivery date, not just that it is urgent. Give the fluid, temperature, pressure, whether the joint will move in service, and any approvals. Ask them to confirm the joining method, material certificate if needed, lead time and whether the proposed ring is temporary or suitable for the intended service.
If a temporary ring gets the plant running, decide at the same time whether a different permanent part is needed. That prevents the emergency repair from becoming an unexamined specification.
