Large and endless O rings

An endless ring is moulded as one continuous piece, with no joint.

A joined cord ring is cut from extruded cord and joined to size. Both routes have their place, and the duty decides which is sensible.

Moulded versus joined cord

A joined cord ring can be acceptable in a static groove with mild media, modest temperature and easy access for replacement.

For temperature cycling, aggressive chemicals, steam or cleaning cycles, check the construction, compound and acceptance requirements before choosing the supply route.

Selection depends on the duty, the pressure or vacuum, the media, the quality of the joint and any certification required. We will say plainly which route we would fit and why.

Sizes and tolerances

Tell us the inside diameter, the cross section and the tolerance class your drawing calls for. We will confirm what the supply route can hold before you order.
